Now, China gets hit with a major earthquake (7.8 on the Richter scale in one portion) and it turns out <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/asia-pacific\/7396400.stm\">thousands have been killed<\/a>.&#160; Of course this is just the initial estimate; it will probably end up being much higher.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>China and the US <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/world\/issues\/chinatensions\/\">haven&#8217;t always been the best of friends<\/a>, so I wonder how much of a factor politics will play in the nation requesting and getting aid from the US. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First, Myanmar gets hit with a cyclone that left 1 million homeless and almost 100,000 dead.
