My Top Five Last.fm artists (week ending Sept. 12, 2009)

1. The Gossip (20)
2. Derek and the Dominos (8)
3. Assembly of Dust (7)
4. loomis and the lust (5)
5. Paul Westerberg (4)

I have decided The Gossip was perfect background music for reading Duane Swierczynski‘s novel The Wheelman. Excellent combination.

I also haven’t listened to Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs in a long time, but when ‘Have You Ever Loved A Woman’ came up while I was listening on shuffle, I was on a Derek and The Dominoes kick for most of the night. Since I grew up with Layla being played on Classic Rock radio, I had no idea that the album was a huge flop when it first came out.

I have been evaluating the new Assembly of Dust album (‘Some Assembly Required‘) for eventual play on Deliberate Noise. I think I had All That I Am Now (featuring Richie Havens) on repeat for a while. I can guarantee that song will be played.

I still like Nagasha by Loomis and The Lust. I really hope this band hits it big.

Only 4 Paul Westerberg songs this past week? Either I listened to a lot more podcasts than I thought or something is wrong with the scrobbling on my computer.
