1) I think that I have been cast as the Morton Downey Jr of comic book podcasting. I have more people sending me emails that they love the rants that I do than ones telling me that they like or dislike my opinions. I’m not sure how I feel about my opinions, likes and dislikes being distilled into schtick.
2) I want some grits, but I hate making them for some reason.

I just enjoy hearing you make some noise.
The rants sometimes are priceless but I like listening to you talk about life around comics. That’s something that you do that not a lot of other shows do– you relate comics to a larger life.
Of course, whenever I feel a rant coming on, I do think “I’m going into Derek mode here.”
Another way to put it– you’re honest. Brutally, sometimes vehemently, sometimes quietly honest in your ‘casts. You’re not putting on the show others are. I don’t think that the “Derek” that’s on CBN is different than the Derek I email back and forth with.
