I was driving back from getting some lunch and I was forced to listen to the radio. On top of that it was The Rush Limbaugh Radio Show. He was talking about Gen. Wesley Clark’s support of Barack Obama and previously John Kerry. Limbaugh said "He’s a partisan hack."
Huh? What? That’s like Mr. Pot talking about the melanin content of Mr. Kettle.
I have got to get a new Cassette Adapter so that I can hook my mp3 player to the radio. I can’t take too much more of driving around podcast-less.
I had to send an email to a customer at work asking about some new types of data that I am supposed to receive. Here is what I wrote: "Do you know when it is supposed to start? Right now the data looks the same as it ever was."
I’m not a huge Talking Heads fan, but I thought it was funny.
I woke up this morning, fired up Firefox and on my homepage is the headline "Edgy Comic George Carlin dies in LA, aged 71" and thought "Damn." I know there are seven other words that should have come to mind, but what do you expect it was early.
Here is a link to the TimesOnline article about his death. The one I referenced above was rather sparse on details and this one doesn’t have Associated Press involvement.
Is it just me or do all of the Obama/Kennedy comparisons creep anyone else out?
There are people who don’t want Obama to just start pulling troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq, but a lot of the language used sounds similar to some of the criticisms about Kennedy’s Cuba policy.
A lot of people want Obama to name Hilary Clinton as his running mate, but Kennedy had a running mate who hated him and we all know how that ended up. Maybe HRC doesn’t hate Obama, but there have to be harsh feelings on both sides.
I’ll do a little more research on the comparisons when I get the chance, but as more people celebrate I start to feel a little more apprehensive.
